Salvador Dali was a Spanish Catalan surrealist and also an expert draftsman. His works consist of film, sculpture and photography. He was known best for his peculiar images in his surrealist works.
Louise Bourgeois was a French American-Artist and sculptor who is best known for her contributions to modern and contemporary art (Spider Structures). Today she is known as the founder of confessional art.
Our April artists of the month were Diego Rivera and Jose Orozco. Rivera and Orozco were Mexican painters, and both created many famous murals. To learn about and celebrate thier work, the after school students painted a mural in the preschool classroom. Students were also hard at work painting backdrops for their original play!
This month Urban Arts also took a field trip to Highpoint Center for Printmaking where students were able to make thier own relief prints!
